Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s & General Hospital (PDSCGH) is established under the aegis of Princess Durr Shehvar Children’s Medical Aid Society, a not-for-profit organization formed primarily as a children’s hospital later on prenatal and post natal medicare to the women also became important part of the hospital.

The hospital is named after Princess Durru Shehvar, mother of Chairman of the Society, Prince Muffakham Jah. Hospital is located in Darul Shifa adjoining the historical Purani Haveli. Hospital with its aesthetic elevation, open spaces and airy rooms has a pleasant ambience.

The primary objective is to develop the Hospital into a world class Pediatric Hospital with necessary facilities for the medical care of the children with the best doctors and latest equipment.

Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s and General Hospital is recognized as one of the premier centers or pediatric care in the city. The Pediatric department at Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s Hospital is accredited by the

NEONATOLOGY:

The neonatal unit provides highly specialized care to the new born who are in critical state. The Level

III ICU is one of the best equipped and staffed and is manned by an expert team of doctors, ‘

specialists, technicians and nursing staff. The NICU is accredited by Indian Academy of Pediatrics

(IAP-Neochap) for fellowship training in Neonatology for MD and Diploma holders. Following are

PLASTIC SURGERY

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty that deals with basically two broad
categories

1. Aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery
2. Reconstructive surgery

Reconstructive surgery provides solutions for anatomical defects that arise after cancer treatment/trauma /disease/congenital deficiencies for example

1. Cleft lip and cleft palate
2. The gaping hole left after surgical excision of jaw can only be rectified by soft tissue transfer (pedicled or microvascular transfer or implants).
3. The flastness after removal of breast cancer can be rectified by plastic
   procedures like tissue readjustment of muscles and skin (pedicled or
   microvascular) or implants.
4. Breast implants are also done for normal individuals who have poorly
   developed breast.
5. Plastic Surgeons services are often used by orthopaedic surgeons and neuro surgeons and cancer surgeons to provide aesthetic soft tissue cover after their work is done.

Our experienced Paediatric surgeons provide inpatient and outpatient care for infants and children at PDSC&GH. Additionally we continue to use new and improved techniques, including minimally invasive surgery, which are adopted by surgeons around the globe.

The Centre for Paediatric provides comprehensive healthcare services for childrenfrom birth to adolescence. The Centre provides a full range of clinical services,tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children andadolescents.

The centre treats quite a large number of children outpatients each year. Our Paediatric Surgery Services include:

Diseases involving the Gastrointestinal tract, Genito Urinary tract, lungs,
other general surgical problems.
